A warm welcome to Class 4 at St Mary's Catholic Primary!
We comprise of Year 5 and Year 6 children, with Mrs Sussens as the class teacher, assisted by Mrs Terefenko. We hope you enjoy our page and seeing some of the activities your children have been undertaking.
We are excited to begin the year with The Tudors as our topic. We will be reading 'The Devil and his Boy', an historical novel based in the unforgiving streets of Tudor London. During history, we will be examining primary and secondary evidence, while taking an in depth look at the battle of Bosworth field and examining the rise of the house of Tudor.
This half term we will be looking at the events that led up to the start of world war 1, followed by an in depth study of how the war played out. Pupils will have the opportunity to study war poetry alongside our moving book - Private Peaceful. Primary evidence of soldiers who gave their life for their country will be part of this topic.
